Famous speech by Angela Merkel in which she called for crackdown on social media

After regime change in the USA on Nov 8, 2016, German chancellor Angela Merkel warned her government about the dangers of a free internet:

“To reach people, to inspire them, we must learn to deal with social media, and, where necessary, to regulate them. So I support the efforts of Justice Minister Heiko Maas and Minister of Interior Thomas de Maizière to address and ban hate speech, hateful comments, and destructive remarks that do not conform with the dignity of man.”
